Students will be able to demonstrate an expanded linguistics repertoire that includes an academic variety of written and spoken Spanish.

Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of the rules of Spanish grammar and orthography.
Students will be able to demonstrate a deepened understanding of Hispanic culture in Latin America and make the connection with the culture of Latinos in the USA.

Students will be able to recognize dialectical variances in order to use formal and informal varieties of Spanish according to different contexts.
Students will be able to articulate and express ideas in an academic variety of oral and written Spanish.
Students will be able to critically apply concepts central to the interpretation of literary texts.
