ME Course Student Learning Outcomes

This is a draft edition of the 2026-2027 catalog. Information is subject to change.

ME 241 - Statics

Students will be able to determine the resultant and moments of forces in two and three dimensions.

Students will be able to set up and solve equilibrium problems using the equilibrium equations.

ME 242 - Dynamics

Students will be able to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics. (ABET student outcome #1)

Students will be able to apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies. (ABET Student Outcome #7)

Students will be able to solve a variety of problems involving both the kinematics and kinetics of a system of particles and/or rigid bodies using Newton’s laws and the principles of work-energy, force-balance, and impulse momentum.
