LAW 203 - Real Property
Students will be able to analyze and apply core principles of real property law, including ownership, transfer, encumbrances, contracts, deeds, and taxation.
Students will be able to communicate real property concepts clearly in written formats.
Students will be able to draft documents commonly used in real estate transactions, such as deeds and promissory notes; analyze transactional documents to ensure due diligence and compliance with legal requirements.
LAW 204 - Torts
Students will be able to analyze and draft legal documents that involve researching tort issues.
Students will be able to participate in a series of group discussions and/or presentations related to case studies involving value judgments in tort cases.
Students will be able to describe, process, and communicate various tort concepts as used in the practice of tort law.
LAW 205 - Contracts
Students will be able to analyze core concepts and terminology of contract law and apply them to legal issues.
Students will be able to critically evaluate contract disputes and propose solutions by applying relevant statutes and case law.
Students will be able to demonstrate practical communication skills in applying and explaining procedural concepts and methods in contract law.
LAW 231 - Procedure - Civil
Students will be able to analyze and draft litigation documents, including discovery requests, pleadings, and legal research memos.
Students will be able to conduct and apply litigation preparation skills, including managing mock client case files, managing discovery, and mock trial presentations.
Students will demonstrate clear communication of civil procedure concepts through written legal documents, such as memos or briefs.
LAW 232 - Procedure - Criminal
Students will be able to analyze and draft legal documents related to criminal due process, such as briefs or memos on search and seizure, interrogation, and evidentiary issues.
Students will be able to engage in collaborative analysis of criminal case scenarios by applying legal principles and defending value judgments.
Students will be able to communicate criminal procedure concepts clearly in written contexts.
LAW 233 - Business Structures
Students will be able to analyze and draft legal briefs/memoranda dealing with business structure topics.
Students will be able to create and analyze business structure/entity cases in the context of conflicting value judgement issues.
