CPT Course Student Learning Outcomes
CPT 101 - Carpentry 1st Year Apprenticeship
Students will be able to apply safety standards including OSHA 10, first aid and CPR.
Students will be able to use math as related to the carpentry trades such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals in the preparation of various site applications.
Students will be able to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts and apply it to layout problems related to the carpentry trade.
Students will be able to apply existing knowledge with new practical skills gained on the work site.
Students will be able to utilize multiple modes of communication towards enhancing effectiveness in the work environment.
Students will be able to communicate accumulated technical data effectively with co-workers to apply that information toward completion of work assignments.
CPT 151 - Carpentry 2nd Year Apprenticeship
Students will be able to accurately construct various concrete forms as necessary on the job site.
Students will be able to read and interpret construction blueprints.
Students will be able to use equipment and protective gear safely on the job site without the need for continuous supervision.
CPT 201 - Carpentry 3rd Year Apprenticeship
Students will be able to accurately construct various stairs and stairways as necessary on the job site.
Students will be able to read and interpret advanced construction blueprints.
CPT 251 - Carpentry 4th Year Apprenticeship
Students will be able to accurately install cabinet frames and hardware as specified by construction documentation.
Students will be able to adapt existing knowledge, skills, and abilities to variability and unexpected demands at the work site.
Students will be able to correctly estimate material requirements for a job based on blueprints.
