CLS 151 - Phlebotomy

Students will be able to identify the additives, tube color codes, and problems associated with the additives.

Students will be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of the circulatory, urinary and other body systems necessary to perform assigned specimen collection tasks.

Students will be able to describe acceptable practices for infection control, isolation techniques, aseptic techniques and methods for disease prevention.

CLS 152 - Applied Phlebotomy

Students will be able to compliant with professional standards related to certified phlebotomy technician.

Students will be able to be proficient in collecting, transporting and processing blood specimens for analysis.

Students will be able to comply with safety standards when handling potentially hazardous substances.

CLS 153 - Phlebotomy Clinical Practicum

Students will be able to demonstrate compliance with local, state, and federal requirements while in the clinical areas.

Students will be able to demonstrate compliance with standard precautions while in the clinical areas.

Students will be able to demonstrate safe infection control practices in inpatient and outpatient settings.
