BRL Course Student Learning Outcomes
BRL 101 - Bricklayers 1st Year Apprenticeship
Students will be able to apply safety standards including OSHA 10, first aid and CPR.
Students will be able to use math as related to the bricklaying trades such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and decimals in the preparation of various site applications.
Students will be able to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts and apply it to layout problems related to the bricklaying trade.
Students will be able to apply existing knowledge with new practical skills gained on the work site.
Students will be able to utilize multiple modes of communication towards enhancing effectiveness in the work environment.
Students will be able to communicate accumulated technical data effectively with co-workers to apply that information toward completion of work assignments.
BRL 151 - Bricklayers 2nd Year Apprenticeship
Students will be able to apply prior work site knowledge and develop intermediate level work site skills.
Students will be able to demonstrate basic blueprint reading and layout skills and accurately construct intermediate wall and bond types.
Students will be able to demonstrate intermediate bricklaying skills and knowledge.
Students will be able to demonstrate the use of appropriate tools and how to make adjustments based on observations.
BRL 201 - Bricklayers 3rd Year Apprenticeship
Students will be able to apply existing knowledge with advanced skills gained on the work site.
Students will be able to demonstrate accuracy in reading blueprints and in performing layouts and will exhibit supervisory skills.
Students will be able to demonstrate advanced bricklaying techniques in accurately constructing advanced wall and bond types.
