AST 104 - Introductory Astronomy: Stars and Galaxies

Students will be able to apply temporal and spatial models to solve conceptual problems in astronomy.

Students will be able to apply proportional reasoning to solve qualitative problems about astronomical processes.

Students will be able to identify stellar, galactic, and larger structures and describe their function and evolution.

Students will be able to describe the relationship between the motion or behavior of astronomical objects and the appearance of the sky or conditions on Earth.

AST 198 - Special Topics in Astronomy

Students will be able to exhibit knowledge of the specific substantive area of astronomy being studied.

Students will be able to synthesize existing knowledge, abilities and skills with new practical skills while gaining theoretical understanding of the substantive area of astronomy being taught.
